"The law of man and beasts"

Films: The Island of Dr. Moreau (1998)

Alias: Various, notably Hyena-Swine, Sayer of the Law, Aissa, Azazello, Majai, Assassimon, and Lo-Mai

Type: Man-Made

Location: Jungle/Civilized Area

Height/Weight: That of average humans.

Affiliation: Good (Aissa, Sayer, Majai, Assassimon), Evil (the rest)

Summary: On the island of lost souls, nothing is as it seems. But even the previous Dr. Moreaus of the world would find themselves scratching their heads wondering how this one thought any of what he did was a good idea.

History: Dr. Moreau retired to an isolated island in the Java Sea so that he could experiment with creating a special Beast Folk in peace. His greatest success is Aissa, a woman made with cat DNA who looks perfectly normal. On the other hand, he's given rise to an army of misshapen beasts who follow him as if he was less a father and more a slave-driver. For to act like a beast is not the law. But how long can the law prosper when more than half the people on the island are insane...

Notable Kills: Nothing special

Final Fate: After an group of Beast Folk, led by Hyena-Swine, tear Moreau to shreds, he instigates a regime that ultimately ends with just about everyone turning against each other and dying. Hyena-Swine, overcome with grief over all the violence and betrayal, walks into his own funeral pyre, cursing the very day he was created. The only ones left alive by the end of it all are the visitor, the Sayer, Assassimon, and Majai, the latter three wanting nothing to do with humanity anymore.

Powers/Abilities: None

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 3-It's important to note that not all the Beast Folk are necessarily bad. The Sayer and Assassimon come to mind. But the rest are utter savages, looking disturbingly real and tearing anything they don't like apart. Obviously, the mentally unbalanced Hyena-Swine is the worst.

Trivia: -HOOOOOO BOY, where to even begin with the production of this film?! Well, we suppose the short version of it, if there CAN be one, is that it all involved the director consulting a Warlock for luck, transferred animals in the middle of a hurricane, Val Kilmer being an ass and firing said director because he wouldn't build a treehouse for him, that director torching all of his work in anger and hiding in the jungle for months (complete with dingo companions)...

-...Marlon Brando being unable to be there for most of the filming due to his daughter's suicide, the director being hauled back while disguised as one of the Beast Folk, Brando being just as bad as Kilmer if not worse (he really didn't want to remove that bucket from his head), hippies having to be hired to replace the extras who fell into sex and drugs, and to top it all off, the film was a colossal failure. The moral of this story is that you really shouldn't rely on dark magic ever. That, or have a better plan next time.

The two madmen and the animals...both in film and out.

Marlon Brando in another example of insanity.
The drugs are kicking in...

"Is there a soul in there?"

Just can the film already. None of this was worth it.
